Driva Man 05:44
Driva man he made a life But the mami ain’t his wife Chottin cotton don’t be slow Betta finish out ya row Keep a movin’ wit dat plow Driva man ‘ll show ya how Get to work and root dat stump Drive man ‘ll make ya jump Betta make yo hammer ring Driva man ‘ll start to swing Ain’t but two things on my mind Driva man and quittin time Driva man dat kinda boss Ride a man and lead a horse When his cat o’ nine tail fly You be happy just to die Run away and you’ll be found By his big ‘ol red bone hound Pate-roller ya bring ya back Make ya sorry you is black Driva man he made a life But da mami ain’t his wife Ain’t but two things on my mind Drive man and quittin time

Freedom Day 06:43
Whisper, listen, whisper, listen. Whispers say we're free Rumors flyin', must be lyin'. Can it really be? Can't conceive it, can't believe it. But that's what they say Slave no longer, slave no longer, this is Freedom Day Freedom Day, it's Freedom Day. Throw those shackle n' chains away Everybody that I see says it's really true, we're free Whisper, listen, whisper, listen. Whispers say we're free Rumors flyin', must be lyin'. Can it really be? Can't conceive it, don't believe it. But that's what they say Slave no longer, slave no longer, this is Freedom Day Freedom Day, it's Freedom Day. Throw those shackle n' chains away Everybody that I see says it's really true, we're free Freedom Day, it's Freedom Day. Free to vote and earn my pay Dim my path and hide the way. But we've made it Freedom Day

Straight ahead the road keeps winding Narrow, wet and dimly lit Vainly looking for a crossroad Where a weary soul can sit Lost and needing some direction Dodging ruts along the way Bumpy road, confuse a body Lead a trusting soul astray For some this road is smooth and easy Travelin’ high without a care But if ya got to use the back roads Straight ahead can lead nowhere On this road you got a problem Getting where you want to go Speed limits almost down to nothing Straight ahead but oh so slow

In The Red 08:06
No account, bank account Can’t raise a dime Can’t pay the bills I got on time No account is bank account That’s got me flying low Sure makes a poor man’s way A hard row to hoe They say to keep on smiling When trouble comes in twos Rich folks say to keep on smiling But poor folks pay the dues No account, bank account I’m broke and bent Though the Lord provides The rent ain’t heaven sent (solo) They say to keep on smiling When trouble comes into Rich folks say to keep on smiling But poor folks pay the dues No account, bank account I’m broke and bent Thought the lord provides The rent ain’t heaven sent No account, bank account Will make you change your ways There won’t be no peace of mind Till I see better days

G’way an’ quit dat noise, Miss Lucy-- Put dat music book away; What’s de use to keep on tryin’? Ef you practise twell you’re gray, You cain’t sta’t no notes a-flyin’ Lak de ones dat rants and rings F’om de kitchen to de big woods When Malindy sings. Easy ‘nough fu’ folks to hollah, Lookin’ at de lines an’ dots, When dey ain’t no one kin sence it, An’ de chune comes in, in spots; But fu’ real malojous music, Dat jes’ strikes yo’ hea’t and clings, Jes’ you stan’ an’ listen wif me When Malindy sings. Oh, hit’s sweetah dan de music Of an edicated band; An’ hit’s dearah dan de battle’s Song o’ triumph in de lan’. It seems holier dan evenin’ When de solemn chu’ch bell rings, Ez I sit an’ ca’mly listen While Malindy sings. Towsah, stop dat ba’kin’, hyeah me! Mandy, mek dat chile keep still; Don’t you hyeah de echoes callin’ F’om de valley to de hill? Let me listen, I can hyeah it, Th’oo de bresh of angel’s wings, Sof’ an’ sweet, “Swing Low, Sweet Chariot," When Malindy sings.

African Lady 05:53
Sunrise at dawn, night is gone I hear your song, African lady The dark fades away, now its day A new morning breaks, The birds in the sky, all sing for Africa Awaits a brights light of the land And tomorrow is in your hand African lady When in the sun and of earth To you gave birth, African Lady The sky lends its stars, from the night To make your eyes bright Sweet blossoms of scented sheets, wrap you in perfume breeze The sun sets very hue Tense with play Bright roads for you, African Lady
